I often regret that I did not make Eagle, I only needed a couple merit badges to do so, but I decided to quit. My best time as a Scout was going to Philmont Scout Ranch.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

yes
tiger to eagle

then a den leader for my sons den tiger through webelos

then a committee member for a couple years

the troop got to a point where we had boys but not hardly enough parents or leaders. If I didn't go on basically every camp out they didn't happen

I was stretched for time and my wife said you can do one or the other 4-H shooting sports or scouts but not both.
Scouts had just destroyed their shooting programs.

that was where my passion was so , 4-H shooting sports and I was the county chair and fair superintendent for the next 10 years so I was still crazy busy.
also did some camping trips with 4-H

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I never had the opportunity to join but I always wish I could have. That being said, I do have a small collection of their scout knives and a hatchet.

I married a moonshiner's daughter and I love her still!

Pretty sure I have a bunch of my stuff still around in a box somewhere. My mom had kept it forever, but when they moved about fifteen years ago, she gave me several boxes of my stuff from when I was a kid that she had kept. Most of it I just stored in the boxes after opening them to see what was in them. It was stuff she considered important, but not anything I had wanted since I moved out.
I started scouts when I was 12, and made Eagle before I was sixteen, and got one of the bronze palm things to add to it for additional merit badges. Went on several fifty mile backpack trips with them, canoed around the boundary waters for ten days, and went down to the Florida Keys and sailed around them in a 70 foot sail boat for ten days. Was proud of the Scouts for many years for standing up for their beliefs, but they finally folded to political pressure. Pretty much wrote them off after that. If I had a boy today I wouldn't encourage him to join.

Yes Eagle Scout jumped you a pay grade in the military, and used to look very good on a resume/job application to a lot of employers.
