9 MM Luger Parabellum. My neighbor who passed a few years ago was in WW2, and took one off a SS (Schutzstaffel/Waffen officer) as well.

He let me handle that pistol when I was 14 yrs old, and I'm sure it's still with his family....Those are some neat war spoils.

Is that a 9mm or the 7.62?

Been re blued? These usually have parts that are straw colored from heat treat.
Under the flap of the holster is a small flap that should contain the small takedown tool that these were issued with. What's the maker and date?

I may or may not know of a guy who’s grandfather kept one after the war. With the barrel lenght, it’s prohib here. He could’ve gotten the proper paperwork long ago to own a prohib, but most of them old timers didn’t. The grandpa died long ago and ma remembered this old thing. He asked me if he should register it so he could legally own it and shoot it at a range. I told him that if he does, it’ll be confiscated.

Yep I have a couple the one on the top was brought back by my mothers brother from WW2 and one day him and my dad were shooting it out back of the barn and dad said he would like to have one like it some day and my uncle just gave him it right there, according to those that know more about such things it’s actually WW1 navy issue according to the stamps ect it has, it’s in 30 Luger cal and was made in 1916

The other is a 1918 production gun that was reblued back in the late 70s so I am told by the guy I bought it off a few years ago and was taken by his dad in WW2, it does have Nazi stamps on it which I was told was done when they took over it’s a 9mm

And yes I have shot both of them though not for some time and not often, I also have a broom handle Mauser and a walther PP with Nazi proofs that mostly sit on the wall along with the Japanese swords my dad brought back along with his 1911 and Springfield rifle he carried during the war

VERY cool! My dad had two of them but gave one to his brother in law and the other one to a policeman that he knew. This happened when I was a kid. I wish he had given them to me.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

It may or may not have been reblued but I don’t think so, without having it in hand I would say that’s what’s know to collectors as a Black Widow model the BW model is all blued with black Bakelite grips and they generally bring a premium from collectors

The NRA museum has a good article about them above
