I was wondering if you could make bacon out of it. Does it taste fishy? Yes I know they are not a fish.

Does calf Beluga taste like bacon, OR chicken !!! ![laugh laugh](/forum/images/graemlins/default/laugh.gif) w Nope lol I was wondering if you could make bacon out of it. Does it taste fishy? Yes I know they are not a fish. Nope again. It does have a bit of a fishy taste and being seafood would not be safe to attempt it. The oil drips right out of it at room temp

Jeff I'd say you're living high on the hog because of some great friends ! I've got a sneaking suspicion that it's an acquired taste ?
Thanks for sharing with us ! Allan

Once it's rotted down on the counter you just eat it and hope to survive? Its fine, as long as you dont seal the jar while its rendering Use it like lard, or lamp oil? For dipping dry fish and adding to soup or meat. Young adult I’d guess, with the white skin. Calves are more grayish Yes, looked like a last years calf just a bit of gray left.. Nice and tender still.

Rendering would be the correct wording I guess, but its being rendered at room temperature, so technically it is rotted down. And yes, for the oil.
He didn't bring me any meat. I like the dried meat, it turns black, looks like liquorish. They are hunting for the skin, they leave most of the meat usually. Do they not like the meat? Seems odd to leave it
