I'm fortunate enough to have a good trapping supply house about 45 minutes away. Smart folks, too.

Do you buy most your new traps from a brick and mortar store or online? A few times I've wanted to compare different traps or supplies and ask questions. I can't do that online.

It's been a while since I bought new traps. The last new traps I bought came from Epler Fur Company, Inc.

I enjoy the conventions. Found sellers with appropriate tools and fabulous stories. Prolly should have spent more for the quality bought. Memories were priceless, glad they did not price their wares for the comradery !!!

The nearest supplier to me is trap shed supply in Marietta. But I can't determine if they are brick and mortar or drop ship as they don't list address or hours on their site or answer emails. I'm not making and hour drive through Atlanta traffic on a maybe.

Being a specialty item it’s not easy finding quality supplies along with great personal service. Most hardware/farm stores that carry trapping supplies carry Duke or Bridger brand traps for smaller needs and have good service at times but suppliy options are limited compared to on line or trapping specific suppliers.

Buy most of my traps and supplies at conventions from Minnesota Trapping Supply or F & T.

I'll definitely be looking at the new Duke 330 when it's available. I'm hoping to handle a sample or pick up a few at upcoming conventions.

I buy mostly used traps so i get mine from conventions & flea markets.
Used traps you always want to buy in person to check for weak springs, overall condition, etc

some from F&T but most of them have been a convention/rondy or the guy who sells at the convention/rondy selling from his garage once you get their phone number and can call them with what you need and drop by and pick it up.

The only place I buy trapping supplies if I can help it. Gerald is a great man who’s done and continues to do so much for the industry. I try to give him every dolllar I can unless I’m buying directly from the manufacturer which only occurs with one particular item

MTP for all of them. It was 35+ years since I’d trapped and MTP had starter kit with MB550’s. I still have that hammer, the sifter, and those 6 traps. Bought everything else from them since then.

PCS Outdoors has better pricing on a lot of traps and lure. Shipping is fair, too.

The point I am at in life I give more traps away to kids or trade for something I might need help with. Still need a few essentials every year such as skinning gloves, lure and ingredients. Got enough traps to last me till the last rendezvous calls me. Mtp, or conventions when I do need something.

Only new traps I ever bought came from Montgomery Fur, bartered my fur.

I have probably bought more traps from guys who thought they wanted to be trappers but found out it ain't easy money and fun and games all the time. They will go out and buy new steel and maybe use them one time and hang them up and lose the urge to trap. I haven't bought any brand new still in the box traps since the mid-1980s all have been bought either at local auctions, flea markets or X-"trappers". I have gotten some great deals over the years doing this.

I get a chuckle at people driving 600 miles to a convention to save money on shipping. I find some good deals on used traps at convention, but mostly on new traps, order from F&T.
