Tried tanning a dozen raccoons and I’m running out of time before I leave for another business trip. Not sure if the pickle or tan was incorrect but it does not appear correct to me. Wondering too if rinsing in the clothes washer after the tan solution actually removed the tan? Is that possible? Can I toss these back in the freezer and start over again when I have time. Re-pickle, tan & oil again?

As long as the hair isnt slippingmyou should be able to freeze them and start over again from the pickle.
If the skins are greasy start with degreasing and rinsing.
Why did you tackle so many at once.
2 or 3 at a time will be enough for home tanning if you want to do a good job,
You can step it up a bit once you develop your tanning skills.
I have no idea about rinsing in a clothes washer, rinsing should be a quick process no more than a couple dunkings then wring out.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Very true I tackled more than I should have. Lesson learned! Thank you for the reply.
