Grandson and me just came from a gun store. He is 18. Paid for an AR and now must wait. Apparently the outlaw gang of anti-constitutionalists calling their selves ATF have decided 18 year olds must wait up to ten days to bring their firearm home.

Sounds good to me. Your grandson is probably good to go, but I know bunches of them who need deeper background checks.

He's evidently passed the check. This is just making him wait for no reason. The ATF doesnt get to make gun laws. This is unconstitutional, period.

I think congress passed some sort of gun (people) control law with an age restriction. So it may be The ATF is not just making up stuff. Still wrong but blame congress.

There are a lot of young hot heads being a gun for for some" quick work" that will pass a background check. As much as I hate the ATF I kinda sorta get this one a hair. That ten days could give someone the time they need to cool down and go " hay maybe I don't want to shoot my cheating gf and her bf in the face". Delt with similar situations before a few times , cheating gf, getting bullied, lil whatever thinking a drive by is what they need to do yadda yadda

Then again it's pretty easy to buy a cheap burner gun off the street soooo .......

Criminals don't follow laws but young people tend to make rash decisions

Especially when it comes to stuff like straw purchases suuuper common for people to go buy a gun for someone who needs it quick they get some cash off of it the other person gets to go spin the block with their new blick that evening

There's a near infinite number of different ways to kill people, including other guns, besides ARs that 18 year olds can immediately take home after background check and purchase. This new rule just makes overly emotional morons, incapable of thinking logically, feel better.

And this, folks is why we have so many random shootings. I'm 79 years old and have been hunting alone with all sorts of guns and never killed anyone. It is summertime and no seasons are open (except varmints), so it won't kill him to wait 10 days.

I don’t have a problem with that rule. Eighteen year olds are not always ready for guns and society. We just had a murder today. Kid killed his grandmother.

What if it's your daughter running from an abusive boyfriend and needing the means to protect herself?

You gonna wait ten days to fill up your car because there are arsonists?

Ten days on your next trap because of poachers?

You can "what if" yourself into all sorts of tyranny or accept the fact that life and liberty ain't safe, plan and act accordingly.

Besides, last I looked discrimination is a no no in this modern society.
