if you want to grind I would suggest a bucket trap
some have trap doors some a roller with bait put some bird seed in the bottom and they will be fat and happy when you go through and grab them all to shove in the grinder.

Like a few others, I use the Victor snap traps with the yellow pan and peanut butter. If there are a lot of them little buggers I'll fill a pail about 3/4 full of water followed by a layer of oats, sunflower seeds or other small grain. Put up a small ramp for them to climb and let them jump in. Thinking the grain is solid they drown. Cheap and easy to make and also works on other rodents.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I put the snap trap .. perpendicular to the outside wall...and put a bab of peanut buttah and inch above the center of the pan ...on the wall. They have to step on the pan to get a lick.
I've watched them sit and lick the PB off the triggah...with out it firing

lots of them I don't bait and make blind sets along the walls
That's how possumskinner caught thousands of mice Caugjt a lot of en that way myself, but I think the ones around the house and garage won't go near traps anymore . They won't hug walls anymore either so glue traps aren't working.

They won't hug walls anymore either so glue traps aren't working. Set two traps side by side. I’ve seen them jump over just one trap. They land right on the second trap if they try that. Also, I use small pieces of plywood to fan out from the wall to make a funnel on each side. But the bucket set is the high volume way to go.
