As much as I dislike the state and local governments' use of USDA to trap beavers, I don't think this lawsuit is going to be good news for fur trappers.

I didn't read the lawsuit, but it sure smells like the first step in stopping beaver trapping to "save the trout".

To save wild trout, you need to trap beaver.

depends upon lots of things, in some areas where beavers are scarce or non-existent people are making "beaver dams" to help trout, especially in the northwest.

Sounds like trout unlimited is getting ready to go after beaver trapping.

there are no shortage of beaver in WI
if there were a shortage towns and counties wouldn't hire USDA to protect roads and ag land with trapping of excess beavers.

this is about shutting down trapping and fishing , in my opinion , use the court as a weapon to get the Gov to stop trapping of beaver.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

There is a concerted effort to make beaver the new "sexy" animal by the environmentalist crowd. It's happening in Oregon and Washington; all in the name of "salmon restoration". Trout Unlimited is not a friend of the outdoorsman.

Relocation of beaver in WA has become big business
Started with a small .org "Business" years ago, after mitigation banks were starting to fail.
This .org is encouraging trappers to take their training course and come along side them.
Good for the ADC guys,,,,,Bad for the trapper.
WDFW is Woke Folk.

Think about this one.....
The state closed a productive hatchery so that it could be used to hold beaver for Salmon Restoration

Not buying it, we have been told for decades that man made dams are bad for trout and salmon, but now beaver dams are good. As a professional industrial forester who worked on several 100’s of thousand aces of industrial timberland in the Adirondacks and Tug Hill Plateau, I’ve seen first hand the destruction beaver have done to wild Brook trout streams there.

My understanding of beaver dams is they are initially good at the start then silt over in time and the problem begin, then they are not benefiting the beavers after that.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

100% true as any troutfisherman knows Unfortunately a lot of money is available for groups to redefine "sport" if they had to fund it themselves not a one would give a scat

I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
