Even though I have been using cages for many many years i have never messed with smaller cages at all and I wanted to mess with the mink this year, I bought a few Dukes and I must say that they are certainly not the quality I had hoped for or will use very flimsy, weak door frame and doesn't shut tight at all, I would
think the first mink that goes in will be out in seconds. I am wondering what brands you guys use that have proven themselves? any suggestions would be great! Thanks

I have Duke, Safeguards and Tomahawks, a few Little Giants in small size cages. I don't trap mink in them really but do use them a lot. My favorite brand is the Safeguards! I like the way they set better, the hoop on the door and they feel stronger than all the others in my opinion. Tomahawks are my second, but I own more Dukes because of price, what I'm catching really don't fight a trap much. These are the 5x5x16-18 inch traps. I would think that you could catch mink in those. once you move up to a 6x6 or 7x7 its a toss up on those two brands. I don't own any of the Duke larger cages so have no opinion on them.

I use 10x12 haveajunk and safe guard or Tomahalk,,,,,,My coon cages,,,,, and I like a bigger entrance....
I would not use the standard duke,,,,,Because they are not going to stand up to a coon
Duke HD are a swing door and can be a issue for closing unless the door fee of debris....
