The hornets are bad this year. I just wiped out a nest bigger than that one that was under the eave of my new summer kitchen. I went out after dark and soaked it down with bee spray, the kind that shoots 25'. Get the non-foaming stuff if you can find it, it's way more effective, hard to find anymore though.
It took me three nights in a row. Each day there'd be less activity and by the fourth day none.

But...I was painting near the "dead" nest a week later and one came out of it and bounced off my head. I sprayed it again, knocked it down with a shovel, sprayed it again and chopped it up. It's dead for sure now.

PS; Aim the spray up the hole.

I'm dealing with another large one they built inside the taillight assembly of my 16' trailer. I can only see the bottom 20% sticking out. I sprayed it three nights in a row with little affect. The other night I got brave, snuck in close a gave it a heavy dose of Sevin dust. Over the last two days activity has dropped about 90% but it is still active. I'm going to give it more Sevin dust tonight, right up whats left of the hole this time.
 Eh...wot?

Wasp and hornet spray at night. Let all of then return to nest. Have back up cans. My son works for terminex. He has to do night calls on hornets a lot This has always worked for me. Bee careful around them during the day. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/07/full-3328-223194-1142.jpg)

If your concern is spraying a liquid at something electrical, I would think the can of chicken concoction should get rid of them in short order.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Spray wasp spray at night....works heresame let them go to sleep then soak it set an alarm for around 2 hours after dark and go soak them down with a head lamp and 2 cans of spray
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I agree with the wasp and hornet spray but I would not recommend using a head lamp. Hornets are attracted to light at night. I would not want them attracted to my head. If you need light, set it up away from where you will be with the spray can.

Wasp and Hornet sprays spray at a distance allowing you to be quite a ways back when you spray the nest. I've killed a few of these and usually it took a full can to completely wipe them out. As everyone says, you need to shoot into the hole of the cone, douse it real good to kill them all. Then later you can knock the nest down.
If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?
