I am sorry I cannot help you much here. After 40+ years of trying to trap coyotes, I’m still pretty crappy at it.

Want to know who the best are?
John Graham and family has been hosting 'Coyote Days' for several years. A two day event with 20 demos put on by some of the better coyote/ bobcat/ predator trapper in the country. I don't know if they are all on T'man as has be stated, these guy's are out taking predators!

I have not chimed in this time as I have in the past. I’ll say yes sir gave solid solid heartfelt advice a few pages back if he’ll listen. I often say kids lack the natural curiosity of going out in the snow, tracking for miles and learning. They want to go straight to piling up the fur by just going through set motions. What he needs to learn largely can’t be taught on Trapperman and we’ll most all be dead and gone if he does and never see or know it. When I was a kid learning in the 70’s I’d never ask so easily. I understood that the onus was on me to become a trapper. Many, many hours have been spent in earnest, on my own, to become a trapper.

What do you mean by the “best” k9 trapper? High catch count? Trapping the ones no one else can?

That would be the hardest working trapper, not necessarily the best.

So when the guy that gets the big numbers but can’t get the last one, do you call the real “best” K9 trapper to finish the job?….lol
This happens lots with beaver trapping.

Not anymore now I know what an experienced trapper is lol.

With the proper motivation pretty much anyone can get the last one.

I would bet there is an experienced trapper close to where you live. Seek him out and try to befriend him.

Best advise going. I was thinking the same but Ks is closer to SD than I was comfortable with.

I had a "last one" giving me fits a few years back (not really such a thing here as more move in pretty quick) Landowner told me he saw it every day checking his cattle. So I drove out in his pickup and there it was. Shot it out the window. I think think that coyote recognized my pick up.

Kids are like canoes sometimes and you need to paddle them from the rear to get them where they need to go.
