Jeff, no changes in farming practices and it is the same type of sweet corn planted. He did see some damage last year but it was later in the season.

I would set up a camara ,it could be deer ,but coyotes around here will destroy sweet corn as it ripens. The best animal deterrent i could recommend is ( Hinder ) deer and rabbit repellant its not cheap but works, It s sprayed on ,the animals eat but wont come for seconds because of the Tast, no harm to the vegetables.

Your farmer friend is not worried about raccoons? A couple of raccoons will run down a patch of sweet corn also. Electric wire is about the only thing that I know will stop raccoons or deer from making a mess of his patch.

I had some deer eating the nice tender tops of my fall raspberries. I bought some Deer and Rabbit repellent mixed it with some dried jalapeņo seeds seeped for a couple of days that I save from the leftovers of last years garden. Hopefully this will deter the deer.
