I hope this isn't deemed too political. It's not meant to be political, so PLEASE no mention of any presidential candidates in this post.

Most of you remember last month how TSC cancelled all of it's DEI programs after backlash over it's support of the alphabet soup causes.

Well, now the biggest HR organization is also moving away the term equity... which is defined by the article as referring to measures took by companies to "even the playing field", by, for example, hiring or promoting lesser qualified individuals due to their skin color or gender. The article mentions the fact that white males feel excluded due to equity policies.

This sounds like good news, and that people are getting fed up with all the bull.

That is good news. The corporation that I work for bought into DEI full tilt around 2019. It has since slowly fallen away from being in the spotlight up to currently.

My big thing was I would push back by questioning “ you mean to tell me that I am supposed to consider any of my coworkers as (make them fill in the blank)”. My simple answer is that nobody is special.

I believe in live and let live. I also believe employers should be allowed to hire or promote the best qualified.

Me myself I will not contribute to some poor mentally ill persons delusion by playing along with their delusion.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

It's good news if companies actually do it, and not just pretend to do away with it. We all know Affirmative Action led to quotas, even though companies denied it.

As long as there is still a clause for mentally challenged, most of you will still have work..

I'm reminded of the bumper sticker: "Do you want to fly in an airplane that was maintained by a qualified mechanic, or someone that is a quota hire?"
