I’d call that Jim Griffith guy, he’s the agent for Northern PA and he should be able to set up an account for you and then next winter you’ll have to find your closest pick up spot along the trucks route and you drop off your fur there where it will be bagged and tagged

At least that’s what I did here

First off, you don't sell fur to Fur Harvesters. You consign it with them, and they "sell" it for you. For this they charge you fee's and commissions.

Coon like all fur have regions that produce better or worse fur than others, your ability to put up quality pelts will affect prices also.

Here are the coon results from last month. 54.000 offered and they did not sell them all and no where near a$16 average.

Raccoon 54,042 92%
Canadian
Western HVY
Eastern US
$6.52
$9.86
$5.07

Did you try searching fur harvesters auction?…..lol….. Everything’s on their site including auction results.
What ever you’re looking for, try Google first. If you have access to the inter web.
Once you send in fur and the ball starts rolling, then you’re going to be firing off a few questions I’ll guarantee that!…lol

Once you ship (consign) your pelts to Fur Harvesters, you no longer have control over them. You get what ever FH sells them for. Some pelts, on unwanted species, might sit there for several years before they sell and you get paid. Plus, as others mentioned, there are fees and commissions.

Also, FH only accepts stretched and dried pelts. Nothing green or on the carcass. And pelts that are poorly put up will be graded as Section III, damaged goods.

Since you are just starting out, try to find a local buyer you can sell to. They will usually take the time to give you pointers on your put up and explain what they are looking for in the pelts. Would be a valuable learning experience for you.

As with everything- start with baby steps. You are a long ways from being ready to run a marathon.
