Got a buddy of mine that unclogs/cleans septic systems he claims the biggest culprit of clogged systems is 2 ply toilet paper no matter what brand.my grandpa was a plumber had alot of toilets back up in the small town he lived in.the women were flushing there used ta**on down the toilet.he used to call them the cotton cowboy.

Now i would look into codes for septic tanks

A simple test for a drain field is by adding water
It the tank continues to drain, your field is working.

If you do not have a inspection port, you will have to use the primary lid to view.
If it is not above ground,,,,a metal detector will find the lift point,,,,,,,,,or use 3' steel pins used in concrete to find the perimeter....the first lid will be center of tank and about 2 foot+- fron the front.....on a 2 partition tank,,,,,,,
