During the run on TP during Covid, our local Sam’s Club only had 1-ply Scott’s for sale. We bought a lot of it.

For six months I was constantly in touch with myself.

Do yourself and your septic a favor and buy yourself a bidet for your toilets.

I have mine pumped every three years for my own piece of mind . It’s cheaper than a new system and I have a sand filter gravity flow system and it’s been flawless

My buddy is a septic expert. Used to do code inspections for the county. Now he installes systems. Only 3 things go down the toilet, pee, poop, and toilet paper. No wet wipes either. He says to have it pumped every 3-5 yers for piece of mind. I had mine pumped for the first time in 15 years this year. It was working fine, but did it for peice of mind. I added risers so I wouldn’t have to dig so much next time. He told me not to waste money on any type of chemical additives. Said they don’t hurt, but don’t help either. The good chemicals come from your gut.

Had one for 14 years. Septic man showed me that it was full. How else can it drain? Suppose to stay full I think.

Never full,
The inlet pipe will be about 12" to 16" below the top op the tank. outlet is lower in a baffled tank
Full would be above that.
Your systems my be different,,,,older
Older systems did not use a 2 or 3 partition tank, but the inflow and outflow will always be below the top of the tank about the same depth, but at equal height

Low flow toilets don't have enough volume to carry the waste and make the corner in main sewer lines using "extra absorbent" products
If you have a "fancy" butt and a septic system,,,, Or like CTRAP and 160,,,,don't shower much.....
My advice is purchasing a diaphragm assist toilet.

There are Glendale/other pressurized mound systems, and lift systems to pump the outlet water to an area that perks....
If you have one of those systems those systems, It is making sure that the 3 or 4 floats, and pump in the outflow tank are working.

After looking at your photo of the onion and your toenail shrapnel, I thought, Good, at least ol' Vinke is eating a well balanced meal. Then it came to me that the onion was your version of an odor-eater from your boots, and the toenails just fell off like they usually do.
