Got a nice jar full.

Goat hoof trimmings, not mine. Just so theres no confusion.

Few days in upper 90s sunshine, and they're getting spicy!

Used some horse trimmings a few decades back, and foxes responded.
Wife was trimming goats the other day and I thought, Why Not?

Our dogs love goat hoof trimmings. They make them want to roll though.

I stubbed my big toe ten days ago and the toenail is about to come off. Right now if you press on it some brown liquid comes out around the edges and it sure does stink. I may save the nail and try to make some bait.

Way back in early days of Trapperman. Bullet Box talked about horse hoof goo. Knowing a ferrier it was easy for me to get a gallon jar full of trimmings. Just add water and yum yum.
What I did find out is. It will work for k-9 sets.
But also if your interested in monkeying around. You can make some fake deer scraps. I don't bow hunt but I did play with making some fake scraps just because I could.
So deer hunters might want to make some and try it.

That's all I have to say about that..

Back in the '80s, I trapped on a large farm that allowed zero hunting.
Some impressive bucks there.

I started urinating in fresh scrapes.
Some got abandoned, same stayed the same, and some got tore up!

I have had rubbing,/rolling response on hoof trimmings, as well as digging. Does seem to catch their attention

If you don't cuff them up first they will roll on it. Nasty stuff.

Might try some on.a post.
Used to.catch fair number of grey fox drizzling a little Bobcat gland lure on top a shoulder high ( fox's, not mine lol)
post.
Set fairly tight, they'd rub the post.
Grey Squirrels and feral.cats big fans too..

Oh well, it's 98F, messing with this stuff and snaring groundhogs is as close trapping as I'll get for a while!

I mean I COULD post about my impending colonoscopy prep..

Dave P I am a huge fan of catchin cats at a rub post. The rub sets I tried for coyotes got only a Luke warm response and my feeble efforts were way short of flat sets, holes, or even blind sets.
