I do like that XTP bullet , it isn't a super designer bullets or anything more like old reliable but they seem to get about 40-50% expansion and retain a lot of their weight consistently.
expansion is of course velocity based but punching both sides is really good enough if you caught good stuff in-between the sides with a bullet that already started decent size.

and do it at a reasonable enough price

they don't make pretty little flower like petals but they make a flat expanded nose plowing through. too much expansion on game gets you no exit , I like exit on game.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

We are pushing XTP bullets in our muzzleloaders and they do very well on deer. No complaints. I am sure they perform well on straight walled cartridges loaded correctly.

Local pawn shop had a Marlin 336 in 30-30. 1976 made so pre safety with a Jap made Tasco. Very very clean with no extra holes anywhere. $550 out the door.

Picking it up this weekend.

Taurus bought Rossi. Them Rossi lever guns are built in Bainbridge, Ga. Rumor is they are of better quality now than when built in Brazil.

Thanks SW that is good to know. Taurus is slowly trying to win me over.

Savell- you know what they say, quality only hurts once.

Nvwrangler of course you are. You gonna stink the place up with pictures like you did from mekico while the rest of the civilized world dealt with snowmagiden?

Good yer already on my (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) list and I'd hate to see ya top out before we have even cast a line or drank somethin cold together but i haven't ruled it out either.

Them old lever guns are as old school cool as it will ever git but I am sure you know that. How are the kids doing- are they still in Texas?
