Here's an interesting little nugget to chew on.

There are 3 major U.S. cloud service providers: Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. Guess who does the cyber security on their clouds, that's correct CloudStrike. Maybe more their "minder" than their "contractor".

Been trying to log on to my mortgage company sight to request payoff and get it done the last day or so always get a 502 error message. Finally called recording Says system is down due to nation wide vendor outage with no eta on it being fixed. I may be able to pay off by phone but now question if the records would be recorded correctly.

I know a guy. He said it was caused by sloppy software install. The horrific thing about is that this software company is used very widespread. He also said that in order to fix this problem, someone has to do it in person as there are no way to fix it remotely. He also said it is a painstaking procedure to do so.

So people have to go to the various server "farms" and manually upload new software to the systems that control thousands to tens of thousands of of cores at a time...? That seems to be the antithesis of "cloud computing".
