How many of you have broke a factory weld on the jaws of a body grip trap? First for me, may look at all them more closely now

Too bad 2 cylinder, if they were still in business they probably would have sent you a new one. I have some very old vics I still use. Their customer service used to be very good

Bought some new Victor 160s must of been a bad batch several of them broke out of that bunch. Nothing more disappointing than losing a catch like that.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I bought 3 doz. new Sleepy Creek body grips in the110 size about twelve years ago. Had good triggers and very strong springs. Were advertised as having a three and one half by four inch jaw spread which was a selling point. After a few years of use the jaw rivets started wearing out and falling off. Also the jaw welds would break. This happened on 8 or 10 of them, usually at an inopertune time in the field. A problem that is fixable but I never bought any more. Since then as I'm sure most trappers know, they aren't making traps currently. I didn't buy anymore.

Especially when you’re dealing with some trap smart animals and they kind of get frustrating to go after and then this happens lol. I guess they have caught a lot of beaver for me and have easily payed for themselves but still was not on my radar of problems I’d run into.

Never had that problem with any other brand. Some of my BGs have been used for decades .
