Sorry if this has been answered but I couldn’t find the answer in the archives, but got some Duke #11 longsprings by mistake from a trap supply company and decided to keep them. They are difficult to set because the springs won’t go around the jaw ends. Saw a video saying just use pliers to bend the tips up, but that seems awfully hard to do. Should I heat the tips a little to make them bend easier? These traps have a lot of sharp edges that I will file and smooth and then should be good. Any advice is appreciated.

Use a crescent wrench...adjust down on the jaw ends....bend upward.
