The attempt at adding double jaws looks like a waste of time to me. But It's a nice looking trap.

While it doesn't bother me, I know plenty of people including my father that try to buy 100% American.

While it doesn't bother me, I know plenty of people including my father that try to buy 100% American. I agree would be nice to buy 100% American or see more of it for that matter but even the so called 100% American made isn’t much of a thing anymore being most products are made with imported materials these days or made with things such as machines not made in America. I myself run a machine shop that does high production manufacturing Machining parts that go to things from Mossberg guns to GM car parts. One would say it’s American made being pressed or stamped then machined here but the sad news is some of the powdered or materials for such parts came from over seas but it still goes in a box that states American made. So imo American made isn’t what it was back in the day nor do we live in time where that would be a thing ever again for running a business in the machining manufacturing industry shows you real quick how todays work force or the next generation of work force simply isn’t up to the task or wants to be. A lot of work isn’t just sent over seas or down south of us do to greed and cost a lot of it is due to lack of work force for a lot of big businesses know they’d still get a premium price and the products would sale if made and produced here not all some are greed and political based decisions but a lot of it is lack of work force, employee greed yes that’s a thing most people can’t come to terms with why they are not worth what others are, and laziness has hurt the American work force hard in the last ten years. This opinion written and brought to on a device of which not American made. Before I get a ton of hate for it I work and employee many that take pride in American manufacturing I’m not saying we shouldn’t support in every way we can but also just because it’s not American made doesn’t mean it’s not creating a job or many jobs here as well or that American family’s ain’t benefiting from it rather be the family own store selling the products or the many of Americans being paid to ship or transport such products across are country.

What’s wrong with a trap being made other than in America? Surely can’t be cause all of what someone uses is American only? Personal preference . Given the choice I will buy sleepy creek 1 LS at the new old stock premium price or used over new cheaper stuff made in China. But many things I get no choice in. $400 for a caliper for my John Deere gator from the dealer. Yes crazy price but at least it's American made I think to myself. Open the box when I'm putting it on and cast right into the part is China.grrr. I won't buy another JD product other than parts for my old stuff. Parts are crazy high and still made in China. At least Kubota parts are made by Kubota and assembled in the US. New equipment will be Kubota tractors and likely Honda it's or Jap mini trucks for utv .

Don't it always seem to go, that we don't know what we got till it's gone.............
Offhand I can think of three USA made traps that reached the pinnacle of design for their types.........the BMI body grips........Coon Dagger DPs and Sleepy Creek #11. For various reason, all of them are now gone. There are some cage traps that fit that pattern too.
Only reason to buy any other #11 is because the SC #11 is no longer being made. So if somebody did want to make one to replace it, why not make it as close to the ideal as you can? If it can be made in an Asia shop for less money, so be it, as long as it is made well. Looks to me like the double jaw issue is because the double jaw was not welded on.......it was stamped and pressed in. The guys that designed and made it didn't understand the function. Duke #11 has that issue in spades. That seems to be the main difference between what current traps have vs. traps made by users that really knew their stuff.
If they are going to make a copy, make a copy. Make it so it is perfect out of the box. No mods needed. And as for the Sterling......replace that spot welded ring with a swivel. Bridger #11 needs that too.
