I have been pleased with all my savages, my first deer rifle was a used savage 30-30 pump, I don’t know what kind of scope comes with the rifle your looking at, but if you can buy it without a scope and buy a quality optic, I think you will be more satisfied. Eric

I'm not familiar with that model off hand. But I bought a savage 62 semi auto at Walmart when I was 18 I'm 44 now. It has had many optics on it and shot more cans and game than I can remember. It's cheap plastic stock is scratched up, butt plate has a piece broken off it, front sit is broken off, has a silver color barrel with no blue left.

I have much nicer and more expensive rifles, but that is still my go to when I want a .22lr. It's accurate as I can ask for, trim and light. Currently wears a vx3 I that cost 5x what I paid for the rifle.

You can say I'm a fan of savage .22's.

Savage fit and finish is generally lacking. Having said that, they tend to be good shooters out of the box. I have several of their centerfire bolt guns, all great shooters. I have an A17 that is also a good shooter, despite it probably having the worst trigger of any firearm Ive used. I use it for coyote hunting behind hounds, always running shots. It works well for that.

I like my Henry 001 lever it’s a great shooting accurate fun gun. I put a skinner peep on it allowing easy shot placement at several range options.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I picked up a savage b22 for a fair price, I threw a can on it and grabbed some bulk ammo and shot some groups and was pleased. I could cover all groups (5 shots) with a quarter and my smallest group with a nickel. I was shooting off a bog tripod while standing, distance was probably 40yds (that’s where the shade was). If I took the time and got the bench and sled out, grabbed some match ammo, I bet I could get a group even tighter. For now it’s good enough for squirrels and coon. [Linked Image]

the Savage Precision looks to be a MKII in a chassis as a entry level NRL22 rifle

looks like they updated the magazine design to rotary , the mag was always the weak point in the past they were stamped sheet metal and sort of thin
if you stepped on one or even sat on it , it was done
they weren't exactly quick change

savage accuracy has always been very good , they look to only have changed mag and dropped it in a chassis

what optic is it coming with
and what is your goal , are you going to shoot NRL22 or just snipe some squirrels in the woods at 10-75 yards?

then you don't need a massive scope just something that lets light in a 2-7 would work well

if it is what you like go for it
Savage makes good bolt action 22s that are accurate.

it looks like the entire B line changed up Mags they still have the MKII line
the moved the safety to the tang also but the action looks very similar

they offer it in the chassis or regular stock

Havent ever shot a savage, but for squirrels it should do just fine.
