there is a bumper crop of tics this summer, in just 2 days I have had three tics on me, one burring himself in the palm of my hand. Whats even more unusal is I have not been in the woods, only in my yard mowing or feeding the rabbits. The pens are behind my work shop. I have sprayed my little dog since I found tics on her and she is a house dog and only goes on the grass to toilet. Do any of you have many tics that you know of?

Ticks are always out. We burn though and I think that helps a lot. Permethrin…buy some and spray your outdoor clothes and let them dry. That will keep a lot off you.

X 2 on the Permethrin. It works really well. I use Sawyer's.

I have the permitherin, and mixed a sprayer full this evening, and am going to spray all the vegetation around the hutches and grass beside the shop. fed up this evening and came in to find one on me again. I'll be taking them out in the morning. Been living in this house 53 years and never seen them this bad, could be all the rain we've had this year.
Thanks all for your comments.

They are always bad here, especially in the fall. The dogs are covered with them after every hunt.

Eh...wot?

Weird year here I had a skunk call today, usually summer skunks are covered with ticks very few on this one maybe 3 compared to 100s most summers.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Always bad in the vineyards here. Have to pick a few off everyday when I get in the shower. All clothes also get nuked on hot in the washer and dryer everyday after I get out of the vineyards. Boots stay outside on the deck.

At least you can see ticks to remove them. Chiggers are my number one PITA, and we have plenty here in Missouri.

I participated in a Wisconsin based Tick Research Study for Marshfield Clinic, here is some year-to-date information so far. I pulled off and submitted (4) Ticks, all American Dog (wood) Ticks, our most common. There were a few Lone Star Ticks collected, Alpha-gal is concerning in the South and now potentially in our area.

Good crop here. I’m in the corn along creeks most days and have found 10-15 crawling on me and a couple attached. My helper Rem has TICKDAR. If she’s staring me down on the road to the next field I better start looking. I’ve never had a dog do that. Not sure if she hears them or smells them. Weird!

Spray your clothes with diluted permethrin. Long lasting protection.

Funny how drinking 8 cups of water a day seems like a lot, but 8 beers in 3 hours goes down like a fat kid on a see-saw.
