I am always looking to try new grilling recipes. Tonight it was stuffed venison backstraps. Slice lengthwise and fold open. Sprinkle a rub with a hint of garlic, spread with cream cheese and fill with onion, green peppers from the garden, and mushrooms. Wrap with bacon. Toothpicks to hold together. Place on a piece of foil and add some hickory chips to the charcoal. Grill 10 min. Then remove from the foil and grill over coals to brown bacon.

While all this is going on, potato packet with onions has been on the other side of the grill. Waiting in the fridge was a bowl of my wife’s creamy cucumber salad. Cukes from the garden too.
