Not really toughest search and recovery I have done. Actually pretty simple seen as I had home quart advantage. Not a ton of trash to deal with just sand and gravel.
Last Saturday one of the guys from our hunting group was fishing off my dock. His son in-law who was with him managed to drop his wedding ring. It went threw the slates into the 5 to 6 feet of water under the dock.
I messed around for almost 2 hours last Sunday just try find it swimming. Actually know I had it located, but water was just to deep for me to scoop it up with long handle scoop.
I was little disappointed with myself not being able to scoop it. But anyways I considered the gauntlet thrown down at that point.
Today's mission go back, put my dive gear on go lay down on bottom and pick it up by hand. I have done it many times over the years in way deeper and worst condition.
However.
I haven't had my crippled butt in the water in my dive gear in over a year. Getting in water getting out is hard. The gear I wore today I purchased in 1984 it has more than paid for itself. Most young people would probably be afraid to use it. I haven't used it myself since I dove on the dredge in frac mine. That was 3-4 years ago already and it's been sitting in one of my bags.
My son said I was under the dock for not quit 10 minutes. So I guess I haven't totally lost my touch. Maybe I shouldn't hand off my tidal of "The Hound Dog" just yet. LMAO!

I love the dive me and my ex used to all the time, but haven’t gone in several years since she left and my dad got sick. Hopefully someday I’ll get back into it. Great find

Mad
It has been well established that wet suits will shrink in the closet. I have had several do that over the last 50 some years. Even in just the winter months they can shrink. It can happen with dry suits too but not as quickly.
The water was warm enough I didn't need a suit today. You can't see them in picture. But Iam wear my knee pads lol. I have a whole bunch different ways to dress for different conditions.
Now day it takes lot longer to dress than to do the dive.

160 that not a Garrett Carrot.. it a Detex pin pointer submersible to I think 100ft?? Anyways Carrots are not submersible.
I didn't have to bring out my big detector because I knew I was only searching about a 4ft x 4ft area. So small detector for small areas. Also easier if there is a lot of trash to go smaller.

elsmasho82.. I don't know about brave never considered my self that. I have done a few things people thought were bit crazy.
I have always thought about it as more and adventure. My specialty is I'm comfortable working in the zero vis water.

Nice work Mac!
I could see a guy finding those super deep beaver runs in the late summer and marking them for later in the season.
Probably need 10-20 foot poles for markers income case...lol
Hope all is good with you.

Good to see you can still get it done.
