A lot of Sheriffs have already said they will uphold our Constitutional rights. Be a show down at a State by State level as far as confiscation is concerned. And don’t forget that a Sheriff can deputize as many deputies as he needs.

That camel's back was already broken with the passage of the NFA way back in 1934. Ever since then presidents both democrat and republican (including trump) have supported ever-increasing gun control.

This is true. In most all states the county Sheriff is a constitutional state officer. As such they usually have more authority than county commission or city governments and answer to the governor.

But it's not across the board in all states or in practice. Up here in the metro most sheriffs have been relegated to just jailers and warrant servers in practice.

Henry has a county police force answerable to the commission because a long time back a sheriff butted heads with the county commission. If I understand the history correctly there was a quasi war between the two way back when.

Clayton the sheriff is defacto it's own little kingdom independent of the commission.

It's the rural county sheriffs that we'll have to rely on so do y'all's best to keep good men in office and don't let your commissions get out of hand.

We got good sheriffs still in Spalding and Butts but we're playing hob trying to keep bad actors off the county commissions.

I do believe DJT has shifted from his "bump stock" and "take the guns" errors of his first term as it wasn't really an issue for him in his world then but now after years of being on the receiving end of lawfare understands that it is his issue and the issue for all of us.

Yep he is as pro gun as the NRA. The biggest supporters of the wors gun restrictions passed starting in 1934. Other than the 94 Clinton ban I don't think there gas been a federal restriction they have not gotten behind but I may be forgetting a few.

Thank you, Keith, for posting this one. I saw it last night . I try to catch every rally. Trump is scheduled to be in my Montana, Bozeman, the 9th . Along with Tim Sheehy , who is going hard in success to oust Tester. I met Tim several days ago. A Navy Seal...a perfect choice for the people of MT. He was very nice to visit with and listen to.

I won't be attending that one in person but will be on keen lookout to watch it on video.

I also am keen to see his rally back on the grounds where he was shot. That will be a remarkable timeline for him, and the people who will surely flock to see him there.

Does not mean he didn't clearly state he doesn't like the idea of silencer. And does not mean he didn’t pass an executive order even his own judges Shot down. Play it any way you want but his record and statements are not pro gun. Just because his son hunts or he says he is pro gun it's not an issue he deeply cares about and goes with what he thinks Is popular. Have the NRA say something needs looked at and he thinks it OK with his base he will make it illegal asap. Been there done that. Exactly what you get from a populist.

Yes I voted for him and look forward to doing so again. I think he is the best president in my lifetime. But the guy Is Luke warm on guns at best. Just because I like and can't wait for the man to be president again doesn't mean I'm going to lie or make excuses about him being pro gun
