Those confinement hogs don't taste near as good pasture raised hogs.there definitely leaner but the taste just isn't there at least in my opinion.

I usually get a 4-H pig after the fair and get it butchered. You can't brown a store purchased pork chop with all the junk injected in the meat.

Way cheaper and there a lot of ways to cook it. Love ribs and kraut. So many good ways to fix chops. My favorite, black beans and salsa.

Just bought a whole hog $1200 after all the processing and 1/2 beef $2300, I'd have to go back and look at the hanging weight but looking back at my other buy sheets it's gone up but not a huge amount

Holly crap that's pretty high for the hog think there around 600.00 here for one at the local locker plant.
