Dang! Right over the top of south central Ga ...again....via the shortest over land route from the Gulf.....just like Hurricane Idalia did.

And we are having a wet summer.....if we have higher winds with this...gonna be a lot of trees toppled due to the wetter soil.

Seems like summer is now our monsoon season. Already got tree's falling all over here from that whole week of rain a week ago. That came after we were in a drought. Either feast or famine with rain now days.

That mess should get your beaver's rearranged for you, lol.

And sometimes it doesn’t even take wind…

Luckily it happened at the plantation and they brought in a crane to lift it off the car and my son drove it from underneath it. Still did $8K worth of damage, but still drivable.

Gonna be a wet one due to very slow movement.

Supposed to take from Monday to Thursday just to cross over south GA.

Yeah, saw they’re forecasting up to 8” of rain for your area plus serious winds. Hoping it’s not as bad as the last one for y’all.

Right over the top of us here.

Strongest winds will be identical to Hurricane Idalia last year...although a category or 2 less.....so most of those trees are already down and cleared....but the soil here is much wetter than last August...so more big oaks and pines are about to go down.

Rumor is Jim Cantore (Weather Channel) was seen at a Dollar General about 10 miles from here yesterday afternoon.....probably travelling thru to the Gulf Coast....that's never a good sign when Jim arrives in your area....lol

The rain with this one is supposed to be heavy. Dang near will stall over southeast GA for almost 4 days....upwards of 16 inches forecast.

We are spending our last day here at Disney and will be following the storm up I75. If anyone needs anything along our way and we are able, reach out via PM and if we can help, we will.
Otherwise, praying for everyone who's impacted by this. Good luck and God bless.

Just happy to be here.

Hope you enjoying Mickey Mouse land.

When you drive back up I-75...and drive by the Lake Park, Ga exit (#5)...you are about 12 miles west of my residence.

Hope yall continue to have a safe and enjoyable trip!

Don’t take much to cause 8k worth of damage these days.

Well that blows…they just added Worth Co to the warning list. Tomorrow will be my first day back to work and on top of that the plantation manager left today for a cruise! So I got regular work and side hustle to deal with as well, lol.

I just finished gathering up "loose" items in the yard.

Gassed up both my truck and wife's 4Runner.

Both generators are in position...one for the house and one for the shop...fueled up and ready (both started on 1/2 pulls)...thank goodness for fuel treatment and running carbs empty last use. Serviced them both after last hurricane. Got 10 additional gallons of gas...that should get us thru 2 or 3 days w/power.

Filled two 55 gallon barrells with clean water to flush toilets.

Stocked up on some Dollar General food items to calm the munchies a couple days.

Have about 20 to 25 gallons of propane to cook with on the Blackstone.

I got rid of all the "dangerous" big pines that can fall on the house last September, so no worries there.

We're on a higher bluff of land, so no flooding worries.

With God's blessing...we'll be OK.

Hope anyone else that may be affected stays safe!

Just like hurricanes. Be prepared. Last I heard, it was, to me, hurricane status winds. Been through some big ones when I lived in FLA. Prepared well for every one of them. They aren't fun.

Hope you all are safe and don't go long without power if it does go down.

I see it is now forecast to shift more to the west. That'll increase the possibility of y'all getting stronger wind gusts/more rain further up into Georgia. It should lessen the effects here some than what a direct "eye over the top of us" would be.

Don't know how far north or how long but I've sent out a few texts to clients to watch the weather and expect possible rain delays this week. It's being reported that it's going to be a slow mover.

We've had regular afternoons rain for the past three weeks here so this one will be falling on already full ground. The rivers are above average flows for this time of year as well.

Flip a coin which is worse fast movers with high winds or slow movers that dump tons of water.
