Elk camp in the woods .....no cell phone service

I have to drive several miles of crappy road to the top of an open mountain to call home .

Just wondering if these booster devices work or just a gimmick

Live in a metal home and use the Wilson Amplifiers "WeBoost" and am very happy with it.

Basically a triangle shaped antenna on a outside pole, sends the signal inside to a energized amp, then to a transmitter projecting signal wirhin the home.

Not bad IMO. I have a 9505A I would think that should meet your needs and it's a bit cheaper than the newest technology

Yeah, you have to have a existing signal...Like was said before, you can't boost what's not there.

Sattelite phone may be the only viable option.

if you want to know if you have signal , toss a line in the tallest tree and hoist your phone up there in a bag with the ring volume loud as it will go

tell them noon or something like that , you have the phone up there and at noon thy are to call you 3 times 1 minute apart and send you a text message after each call 1, 2, 3

if you can hear it ring you have something a booster can work with if not find an alternate method of coms

a half step to a sat phone might be the Garmin In-Reach
it is a satellite SMS device you power it on , and blue tooth to it from your phone and it sends simple message service messages over the satellite network

you can check in and know if you need to go for a drive to talk

if you get hurt hit SOS mode and it sends your gps location to your emergency contact

At my camp in Canada I get service sometimes then it drops off to “no service”. Does anyone know if a booster enhance the signal enough to where it wouldn’t drop to no service?

WeBoost amplifiers work but there must be some signal to boost

You could purchase a Yagy antenna and point it at the tower.
add a system that will work with the antenna,,,,, using a amp.
The problem with most cheap amp is,,,,,, the "noise cancellation".....
