I think series 1 had square jaws and 2 had the curves in the corners so the springs can’t come around the corners as easy.

Series 2 also came out with the easy removable spring due to the safety concern of Canadian Trappers getting a hand caught w/o a way to release themselves. On the 220 size only to my knowledge, so if anyone has one in the 330 size I would like to see it. ...............the mike

I have some 330’s with the safety release on the springs that I purchased from Pacific Hide and Fur in Mills Wyoming in the early 80’s. Send me a pm and I will text you a picture if you are interested

It is a Series 2 also. lasted about 2-3 years in production then was deemed an unnecessary Safety option and dropped from their line. Series 2 also had the 4-way triggers, which were an improvement. Then right before Montgomery went out of business, they made a 220 size trap exactly like the Victor Series 2 with the humped corners (no safety clip on the spring) with tiny trigger differences. I bought several doz. and still use them. That was after I moved back to Nebraska so it had to be in '84 or '85. Spring strength is as good as it comes for that era. .................the mike

Thanks, Mike.
I know it's a Series 2. Just showing the clip and thought that was the safety feature you are talking about. Right?
