First deer I killed with a recurve bow was in 1973. Cedar shafts with glued on Bear heads. I killed a few with Hilbre heads on cedar arrows too.

Started in 1978 with bear broadheads on cedar shafts. Nailed a great big oak shooting at an 8 point opening morning. LOL
Switched to Zwickey Eskimos for a long time off game-getter 2016 then XX75 2419's.
I then shot Snuffer and Rocky Mt. Supreme 3 blades.
Back to Zwickey Eskimos again.

I've used Jerry Hill heads for 35 years or more. Most were "seconds" he couldn't sell. Zero complaints.

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

Same here, but 1974. I used a pencil sharpener to create a point on a cedar arrow to glue the broadhead on. Only place I could find any archery equipment was the local hardware store and they didn't have much.

The Bear Razor head was one of the best out there back in the day. Most of the others were junk in comparison. Arrowheads presently have come a lot way in making a more humane kill.

More and more when I go anywhere I find myself keeping track of where the nearest rest room is.
