So just wondering here ...has anyone ever seen these mono core ...or really any " solvent traps "being sold in an actual brick and mortar store? I've legitimately only ever seen them online, which honestly for what they are supervised me....would figure you'd at least see them at ta gun show but nope

I haven’t seen them in stores but I’ve seen them used, lol. Not too shabby either, they definitely trap solvent in gas form.

I have never used a solvent trap but my mono core cans have more first round pop than my others. I would not want to be on any company customer list that sells the kits unless I already had an approved form 1 in my hands. And probably not even then.

Used to see them regularly at gunshows, a few years back. Those kits probably come with an ATF agent included in the package, lol.

I have a couple of them in original form. Look like they would do the trick, bought them online years ago. I have a suppressor for my .22 but I have a stamp for it. Never thought of drilling one out.

When KS made it legal to make your own suppressor I considered it. I dont own a rifle or handgun threaded for one and just never did. Glad now I did not as two men here were convicted for it even though KS law says enforcing federal gun law in KS is a felony. Quieter gun would be nice but I am not paying 200 bucks for a permission slip to buy something that should not be regulated.

I stumbled across those sites. I know you are just trying to keep your bench clean, but I'd be real careful.

It is utter BS that this is even a thing. We should be able to walk into Cabelas and walk out with a suppressor.

ATF bait stations laugh

If you are going to catch solvent, get the right "can" from a reputable company

I have heard of people buying parts for solvent traps and having lengthy and costly issues from them

DO NOT BUY THEM! I purchased one after contacting the AFT to see if I could purchase one, and was told that I could. I wanted to do everything legal, I even got a form 1 stamp which allows me to make a suppressor. The stamp allowed me to drill a hole in this trap to make a suppressor. Fast forward a year and the atf send me a letter saying ive committed a felony. They required me to destroy the solvent trap. criminals.

Fear tactic you were legal as long as you didn't drill it until the approved form 1 was in your hand. They lie to get you to comply.

There was a guy on YouTube who had videos on oil filter comparisons. He would get a bunch of different filters and cut them open to figure which one to reccomend.

One day he gets a knock on his door from the ATF. They wanted to know what he was doing with all the filters he bought. Must have triggered some algorithm. They had never seen his videos.

He got it straightened out quick and the ATF agents apologised for bothering him.

Big brother is watching........

They do trap liquid, in gas form.
I went legal and will probably buy one a year until they make them legal. Of course by then I’ll have enough, lol. I swore I never would until I shot one. Now I don’t even want to shoot a rifle unless it has one. Call it childish, but I like shooting things now more than ever just because I can hear that bullet hit. No guessing on a miss, a solid thwack lets you know real quick it’s going down if it doesn’t drop immediately.

A man that knows could not have said it better myself. Nothing like hearing the bullet hit the deer same hollow drum soud hiting them with a bow makes. I still remember one of the kids first deer. After the shot " did I get it"
Yes, I heard the bullet hit it, I didn't see it run off so I think it dropped and is laying where you shot it. There was a slight rise in the field between us and the deer and corn stubble so when it dropped it was out of sight.

Recoil reduction is great also.
