Yes the nice thing about being older is that a much higher percentage of our spending is or can be descretionary. How one has made spending decisions for the 6 decades or so before retirement are good things to use when retired as well.

I’m hoping they start driving the corn market around to make money back, the problem right now is the funds are record short but some bearish news has come out and the markets haven’t pay much attention to it so the bottom maybe in for now, and if more money moves in they might try to push it up.

Some of the "they don't make anymore land" guys who bought at $10,000+ per acre on credit will be getting hammered if prices don't move for a few years.

They also were coming out with inflation #s extremely low going by what I buy. Unemployment and job numbers that get revised down quietly the last several months. And said inflation was transitory.

For Some reason I just don't believe what the fed claims but can't put my finger on it.

Kind of like the science is settled. Make the most unscientific statement about science and expect me to believe what your claiming?
Almost seems like you can't trust the government.

I believe the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics calculate inflation and unemployment, not the Federal Reserve.

I believe your correct. I conflated all the government into one untrustworthy group. The kickers is even that statement is wrong the Fed is not the Government. But I don't trust them to have policies that are not political or good for the country. They keep rated low to long and went out of control with the quantitative easing.

At this point I only truly trust my dogs

Just another day. I’ll venture a guess that there’s another 30% downside ahead. Seems way too many years into this run to not have these results. Add in the decades of money printing and cheap money and we are lucky to still be plugging along. Country didn’t learn a thing from the Great Recession except that government prides itself on saving everyone from a free market

It might get a bit tight short term. However, banks usually will work with them to make it work, adjusting term, etc.
In 20 years that 10k per acre will seem like pennies, those guys will be way ahead of people who have no or little equity in real estate.

Without govt intervention some of these guys may lose the whole farm before in the interim. I kept running the numbers and locally the break even point on farmland locally was 30 years based off cash flow. Buying into a situation like that isn't investing wisely, it's gambling (assuming your financing it)
