Just wanted to thank Mike Mazur and his wife Kari for bringing the FTA convention to Spencer, IA next July. Mike and Kari have been busy going to conventions to sign up vendors, lining up demos, dealing with the fairgrounds and the many other tasks that need to be done to put on the convention.

It was my understanding and it was reported in the Fur Taker magazine that no states had bid on the 2025 convention There was a very real possibility that no convention would be held in 2025. Mike stepped up and lined up the site in Spencer so that the convention will happen and not fall by the wayside. The date was also moved to late July and a Friday through Sunday convention. This should increase attendance over the conventions that were always held in late June.

This is not a small thing that Mike and Kari took on. They have lots of hours and miles invested in making this a success. Thanks, Mike and Kari for all you have done and are doing to help trappers.

Looking forward to the FTA Convention being held later into the summer. My understanding is the entire gathering will be inside air conditioned buildings. Certainly a bonus !

I an understand Mike and Kari have several things in mind to show appreciation to the dealers attending.

Spencer, Iowa is near the Iowa Great Lakes a popular destination. I know Kari is already busy setting up entertainment for the ladies.

Berkely has a fisherman outlet store in Spirit Lake , Iowa that you should check out if your into deals. There is a nice Classic Car display in nearby Okoboji that is also worth visiting.

mike is working so hard and is going to have a great convention. They seem to be everywhere trappers gather to get this thing put together on top of all his other duties. I wish all trappers had that kind of drive and determination. Thanks for the hard work to you both.

Luckily the fairgrounds remained untouched this summer. The Little Sioux River did it’s best to destroy that town with a record high by at least 5 feet, maybe more. Lots of houses destroyed. Im sure Spencer businesses owners would appreciate everyone’s business.

National Trappers Association National Convention is in Harrisonburg, VA in 2025! FTA - Fur Takers of America is in Spencer, IA in 2025.

I spoke with Mike at the NTA about the FTA in Spencer.
Due to the location of the NTA, and the timing of the date change, I look for this convention to be big for an FTA show.
