They sure are interesting animals. They were featured in the original Dracula, even tho they do not live in Romania! They were seen as creepy animals and associated with digging in graveyards, so the lore suggested that they would invade coffins, etc.
I’ve never seen one in real life.

I could tell you all about them but most of it would go against the no dispatch rule.

I catch a ton of them every year. Occasionally I walk one up to catch by hand just for old times sake.

i have relatives in Southern Missouri, and Northern Arkansas that we go visit about once a year, for the past 40 years .

I've seen thousands of them ,just like that picture, but this year was the first time I ever saw one alive.

Two of them ran across the road right in front of me.

I've seen 3 dead ones this year so far. Last one a couple days ago at Eldorado Illinois.

About 30 yrs ago there was a dead one showed up at a little town near here. They had the local newspaper taking pictures and everything. It was big news for such a little place. A few months later the word got out that a local truck driver picked it up in Texas and gave it a ride. Later the word got out that they carry leprosy and things went quiet.

Kentucky has 120 counties? They must be small counties.
