I have no grand kids
but this guy called , called me grandpa and asked if I knew who was calling now I know this is a scam right off
but I played along for a minute
he asked if I knew who it was , Oh sure it's Tommy
well apparently he broke his nose and lips yesterday
funny you don't sound like you have a broken nose , or a fat lip
Oh well you wasn't too pretty any way , you'll be fine , bye

My wife won 9 million dollars a couple nights ago . She played along , acting excited . The snake charmer heard me say something in the background and says " who's that " I took the phone and i said this is Santa kleez , amigo......he hung up

Total scam site. It is interesting because it gives you secure checkout with a credit card but the guy declines it sends you an email to call. He tries to get card info over the phone. I hung up. Interesting. I can't find an odd hydraulic fitting that I sell hundreds of each year. Gone. All of my suppliers are out of it and don't know when or if it will be available again. This morning I purchased several that were shown to be in stock at a few websites I found on the internet. These aren't suppliers I've ever used before or even heard of. One sent a cancelled email immediately saying the product was out of stock. That transaction never showed up on my bank ledger. Thought it was odd. I have a couple of retail websites and use a 3rd party to process the credit cards. I never see a customer's card but the card is processed immediately as soon as the sale is made. Even if I cancel the sale, the customer gets a refunded and both the sale and refund show up on my and the customer's bank ledger. The purchase I made did not show up on my bank ledger. Odd. This afternoon I got a fraud alert from my bank. Someone tried to purchase $700 of plane tickets in Mexico. Bank cancelled my card and I picked up a new card at my bank. I didn't make the connection until I read your post. Guess there was really no credit card processor and I just sent my credit card info directly to the scam website.

so really convincing ones are Facebook adds they wait Duluth is running a 40% off sale then exactly copy their sale page but go 60-70% off everything but the prices and 1 or 2 characters in the web address are the same
not Facebook Meta could check and stop this but , they seem to like the advertising dollars , remember on facebook you are the product.

I like to become a character. My favorite is when I answer the phone in an indian accent and the person has the same accent as the one I'm using. I yell into the phone "Brotha! I have not spoken to you in ages!"
The redneck character I use is fun too. Always have my ar with me to do some white trash trespasser shootings. I like to rub my rights in their face, cuz I know they're in a mud hut baking like a pizza somewhere in India.

Then 5 minutes later you get a call from xxx jail requesting $2000 bail money.

My mom got a similar call last year. Grandson was in jail in Paris and needed bail money. They knew he was vacationing in Europe, and names of his relatives using his FB posts. It was a close one, but she told him to call his dad in the end…..lol.

There are a tone of scam sites online. Anything with shop at the end of the name is a dead giveaway.
