Follow Docs orders and walk as much as possible. And yes, a new hip is awesome. August 1 was 1 year ago I had mine replaced and it takes about that long to get completely healed up. The only issue is I can’t run without “feeling” it. Doc recommends against running, so I’m stuck with walking fast, lol.
Your hip with be fine, it’s your leg muscles that will need work. Just give them time later on, they’ll eventually get stronger and no longer bug you.
Take one day at a time. The first 10-12 days I didn’t think I’d walk again, lol. Day 13 I got dressed by myself and could see light at the end of the tunnel. Every day thereafter was an improvement. You’ll go from a walker, to a cane, and then on your own!

You'll be fine, 1 hip is pretty easy, just go slow and keep up the exercises, several times a day won't hurt and your doing nothing anyway, lol, you can usually start driving around week 4 or 5.

I was given driving privileges on Aug 22…Aug 23 I was hobbling around with a cane in one hand, tripod in the other, and rifle on my back going after hogs. Walk 75yds or so and rest. Walk and rest. The more you get around the better off you’ll be. Stick with flat ground though!!!

I’ve had both hips replaced. The second one, got surgery on a Tuesday, went back to work ( in the office ) on Monday. I didn’t have any issues driving. drove myself to camp (122 miles ) to trout fish 11 days after the operation. I went back underground, crawling in 42”, three weeks after surgery.

The worst part is the staples. Think there were 14 of them each time. Once they came out, I felt much more comfortable.
