She had a bad stroke two and a half years ago.
Lost her arm, leg movement, needed speech and swallowing therapy.
She can walk maybe 1-200 feet with a walker, then she is shot for the day.
If I help her do a set of stairs she is wore out.
She can move her arm less than ten inches, and her hand can do a little, barely grip anything.
Couple weeks ago she was heading to the bathroom, with her quad cane and I stopped to record her instead of being right there if she lost her balance.
I recorded her walking on her own for about 25', that's the most she has done, before she took maybe 2-3 steps on her own.
They gave her a walker more than a year ago so she could get around the house and start doing things she used to do.
She did put silverware away a couple times, but not very often.
Yesterday she went to the sink when I was gone and washed three bowls!
That was awesome! She got wore out doing that then went back to her chair.
Hopefully she will be able to do more, like make a lunch or snack for herself, or get ants and other clothes on and off.
Thank goodness for our hyperbaric oxygen chamber, it reduced her severe nerve pain, and helped her brain recover.
A year after her stroke we found out statins prevent the brain from recovering, she didn't even need he statin but dumb Dr said she should keep taking them, corrupt medical system.
I wonder if she would be better if they didn't have her take that worthless garbage

Don’t waste time wondering about possible past mistakes, instead wonder at the terrific progress your wife is making. Positivity is a healer, for you both.
I am very happy to hear of her progress, prayers for more!

Glad to hear your wife is doing well! You and your wife are both very strong in many ways. You start to value some of the little steps or advancements as real milestones...and they are.

I have my own story about Statins... 2 years ago I had an incident that the Docs and everyone said was a stroke. Beside a lot of other interventions they started me on Statins. After starting the Statins I quickly began to lose my short-term memory. The person I call Wonderful Wife did her own research and found there are a lot of issues with Statins, including short-term memory loss. We had a long talk and I decided to go off the Statins until I could see a Neurosurgeon at Mayo/Rochester. My memory began returning within days.

The Neurosurgeon in Rochester took a look at the same scans they used to "diagnose" me as having a stroke, and said "No stroke". He showed us the scan and what had been described by two Docs as a 3mm spot top of my brain, was actually a 3mm thick subdural hematoma covering the entire right hemisphere of my brain, actually flattening the right side of my brain, causing seizures that were also misdiagnosed as strokes. He agreed with our decision to dump the Statins. In a couple days he went into my brain and sealed up the vessel that had caused the subdural hematoma, and I have had no problems since.

It is almost like Statins are automatic in the medical community. Docs have encouraged me to take them and I ask "Why?". My BP. cholesterol, and everything else are fine. When I refuse to go on Statins they give me a look like I kicked them in the gut.

I truly hope that your wife's recovery continues to go well. You are playing a huge part in it.

It's almost like they want you ill , Instead of cured
Ya one Dr on FB said statins don't really help with cholesterol, another said they could help you get Alzheimer's
And our family Dr said she wants my wife to take another statin, Dr said she can't find any information on statins preventing brain recovery.
Well she's probably only looking at information from her hospital, the people above her decide what to do

Ya, she didn't drink much of it, she didn't like it.
She washed a couple dishes again today, that's pretty awesome
