Trying to get a muzzle break timed and i can get close with the shim kit but not perfect, any tips?

Frustrating been trying for over an hour can get it just about correct with 2 shims but cant tighten enough to get perfect, add shims and then it goes way past.

Put the shim which is too thick on a sheet of sandpaper suitable for metal, placed on a very flat smooth surface and work the shim in a figure 8 pattern to make it thinner. Frequent alignment checks will tell you when you have removed enough metal.

Thank goodness for old men, called dad and grabbed his micrometer and measured all the shims and sorted then was able to pick and choose based on thickness. Got it timed now the question is blue or red loctite?

Blue Loctite should be fine , if you let it set 48 hours before shooting it , it will carbon weld it's self on in time

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I’m guessing he’s wanting the openings outward and not up and down or cocksided.

I would use removable loctite so you don’t have to heat it with a torch if you ever want to remove it.
