I initially started trapping coons with some muskrats. Nothing crazy....just enough to pay for my hunting expenses. Well.....the coon prices plummeted. At the time coyotes were bringing in good money. So I went to a rondy and get set up for coyote. Well.....yote prices tanked... Its looking like mink might have "decent" prices this year so thinking of going after them. Hope I don't jinx anyone's season.

Not going to have as much time this fall. My goal is to run a few trapping camps with the kids at some local lakes.......go camping for a long weekend, trap, and have fun.

I'll box trap and kill raccoons, opossums, skunks and mink here on my farm. On the off chance, I catch any fox, I'll let them go. There are to many cats here to use legholds. I probably won't trap anywhere else unless a friend or relative, has a problem. There's no money in it. I'll donate my catches to Wilmington College, give them to anyone else who wants them, or throw them on the manure and bad egg pile.

I'll shoot any coyotes I see and will call some for them.

It's not worth putting fur up to me. I can make more money doing a lot of other stuff that needs done more.

I would love to see prices go back up to enough to make fur trapping worthwhile again. I don't think it's going to happen.

Keith

Anything with 4 legs that ain’t a deer, rabbit, or squirrel.
Big critters pay more, but enough smaller critters make up for a lack of big critters.
