One of my brothers and I played baseball with underripe apples from one of my dad’s trees. We got good at landing them on the neighbor’s roof.

Dad let us have it when the old lady came over telling him she thought her roof was collapsing.

Back when trash cans were still metal and people put them out by the street the night before pickup, we used to dump a couple out, one on each side of the street, and tie them together with fishing line stretch ed across the road. Makes quite a racket when a car catches the line at 1 am.
