I have a friend that's borderline, lots of health issues, can't go to work anymore, he was a bayman and that was his life, and he's finally realized he's pretty much done. He's handling it fairly well but he's frustrated and sad.
We talk everyday now, tell old stories about things we've experienced, people we know, and knew, the news, etc.

He always sounds better at the end of the call, I guess that's why there's therapists, it helps to talk to someone.....

Be positive and encourage them to see a therapist. I lost a good friend to suicide because he was "too tough a man" to get professional assistance. He left two kids and a wife.
