We basically have none anymore here in southeast Minnesota. Any of you guys have a decent population in your part of the state?

I know the area around Mora has a decent population or did as of last year, they were all over the surrounding property’s during deer season and seen a fair number while on stand, kept the season interesting as there were few deer to watch

Greys showed up here probably 20-25 years ago. Since then I typically catch just about 50/50 reds and greys. Our greys always graded very well at NAFA. Only 1 cross fox here but I have seen 2 others over the years along the road.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Wish we had a large population here, like we used to. One of my favorite fur bearers. Eric

Wished we would have a few here. Only one I’ve heard of around here was shotgun blasted from very close range while in a buddies trap 35ish years ago….

Let's hear from you NYS guys. I grew up in the center of the state and in the 70's-80's always caught quite a few.

What's the current status????

Seems to be about the same ratio here in central MN>

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Spunky critters is correct. The first time I caught one. Way different than a red fox in a trap.

I’m 70 miles or so north of Rob, pretty much the same here. If anything the greys have taken the population edge.
That being said, the downturn in reds may be more attributable to the few coyotes sneaking back in among the wolves. Greys can climb away from trouble where reds cannot.
Pick up a lot of greys on bear bait cameras.
