Well , they are gearing up for the big DNC event.

They are expecting 10's of thousands of anti-Israel protesters , maybe even 50,000 - 100,000

They have blocked a bunch of streets with things like snowplows. Barricades everywhere and more on the way. They have literally built a wall around the event with chain link fencing. Event staff states they have planning security for this event starting about 16 months ago. Business are boarding up their storefronts. They have already found several pallets of bricks which have been removed now.

Chicago police are already short staffed because of defund the police. Even with mass mutual aid from across the state , state police and whatever federal assets they can get , I think it could easily be overwhelmed.
I think even if they activated the Illinois national guard and got them in place ASAP , might not be enough.

This could turn into a real powderkeg quick.

What are your thoughts on what can happen over the next few days ?

I believe you're correct, this situation they should have at least twice as many security personnel as they think, whether it's police, national guard, fbi, and yes it still could be a very bad situation.

I will not mourn.

National guard, fences, snowplows.............for the President that won by a landslide on paper? Trump speaks and they won't even put an agent on the "sloped" roof. Geez...........

The people in the nicer areas of the city just buy up land and move to the country. Order should be maintained. The amount of people who moved out my way after Minneapolis burned was ridiculous and ridiculous land and housing prices followed.
