It was posted about on here a while ago. It had an odd name. It had a movie made about it. It was based on a true story, and many of you said you read it in middle school. It was actually on "this day in history" on Fox News around the same time. Thanks for any help.

You're gonna have to be more specific.

The Revenant fits except for having been read in middle school.

We need info on the subject or at least the age (time frame) of the events.

I think it was about an explorer. It was a very odd name. I know this is vague, but that's about all I can remember with certainty.

The adventures of Thor Hyerdahl, (sp), built a raft and sailed it from Peru to Hawaii to prove a theory about how the pacific islands became populated.

I was actually thinking of Kon Tiki bought it was too much about the ocean. We did read it in school. I think I did a book report on it. Good book.

Watched this movie last night after seeing this thread.

Not a bad movie. Glad I watched it. May get the book for a deer stand read.

FYI - The movie is on Amazon Prime
