I also put this on the ADC Forum but this thread has more viewers so thought I'd list on both forums.
What is the best bait to use in a live trap for rabbits. I have one that's been eating my wifes flowers and she wants it gone, lol.

They wiped out her petunias and now they are starting on the other flowers. Saw three in the yard early this morning. Will try apples.

I'll do the salted apples and some fox urine and let you know the results. The fox urine seems to work on dirtholes for rabbits.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqhvmfosKlMSeems to me that you could use 55 gallon removable drum lids in place of the wood , at least for the top part. Maybe put a door in the wire, or lid to remove the catch. Seems it's not legal to trap rabbits in Ohio. Unless they've changed the laws on them. Same with squirrels..

Thanks for all your help. I tried the apple slices with salt and the offending rabbit was in the live trap this morning. It was released about 8 miles from my house. I was driving down a dirt road and saw a similar sized rabbit so released mine there.

For about three weeks now, I have been feeding a group of wild rabbits on my patio. I have adults, teens, and very young coming several times a day. They eat seeds that fall from a bird feeder.
While our granddaughter was visiting we fed them various veggies. They ate cherry tomato, celery, cucumber, carrots, and lettuce. Their favorite seemed to be the stem portion of a stalk of celery. Second favorite was carrots.
