Looks bigger in the second pic than the first, but I would say your average 125 pound bear. Would guess sow but wouldn't put a lot of money on it, at that size and in those pictures it could be either.

Looks like a boar to me- thick front shoulders and legs, blocky head. Pictures can be deceiving but you can ballpark the size based on shoulder height to your garbage can, 36" height on all fours is approximately a 6' square bear.

I'm the last thing you'd call a bear guy but I agree with Eagle eye that when compared to the trash bins you can tell it isn't that dern small.

My fall back position is to call it eatin sized!

Middle aged sow, filled out jowels, thick stubby muzzle. Probably has run her cubs off and been recently breed?
Filled out legs.

If I’m right ( who knows ) a bear like that around here might dress 235 give or take. 5’9- 5’11 nose to tail.

Purely guessing. So much depends on area. Helped a guy take a nice boar hi altitude in Idaho that the state aged at 17 years, but wasn’t barely bigger than what I described above as our sows.

Average size bear. Big bear would be as tall as the trash bin. But would say younger boar.

Small bear I think. Does not have the short rounded ears that large bears appear to have.

Maybe your western bears are full of helium, but that looks like a 250-300 pound bear where I come from.

This is a 300 pounder my dad shot 2 years ago.

That is a nice bear, but in eastern NC that bear would not attract a crowd. Our coastal black bears grow to 800 pounds. A 500-600 pound bear might attract some onlookers. A 250 pound bear is a cub.

Nevada hasn't had a season for long like 13 years, average weight is 300 to 340 lbs according to the class i had to take more then 30% are over 400lbs and 10%of all bears have been over 500 with one over 700. They only allow 20 bears taken a year.

So i measured my garbage can and the wavy part is 32.5inchs from the ground just about where this bear hit its 43 to the top of the lid. The steel 55 gallon drum had the second ring at 24.

It's a good way to get a ballpark estimate: 24"-281/2" (typical ring height) is a small to medium Bear
32.5" you have a nice average bear
A boar will normally have a wider track width also, if he's returning- trowel out some sand and measure the track.
