Looking at spray painting my foot hold traps for this year. I'm primarily targeting cats and fisher. What kind of spray paint do you use? Just regular rustoleum spray and one coat?

I'd use the cheapest you can find. Paint is going to rub off with a catch, so hopefully yours won't stay coated long!

I'd dip them if your going to use paint. Faster, better coverage and not as messy. I used rusty metal primer and mixed it 50/50 with paint thinner

Good deal. I've never used it, might have to give it a try.

Rustoleum spray paint works if you have a small quantity of traps. If having a large volume of trap, dipping in 50/50 paint + acetone/paint thinner is much quicker and efficient. As far as color, doesn't matter if the trap is in the ground. If trapping under the snow ... I prefer a white. For me, white doesn't shadow a trap under the snow as badly as a dark color does; nor does white absorb as much heat as dark colors resulting in less melting. Just my perceptions about color.
