That has a chain type basket on it that was for muskrats, I think. I have set it, and it works but I can't find a name on it anywhere and I am scared to clean it up
very much. I am unable to post pictures, so I am messed up there too. Anyone have any idea who made these? Thanks for any info...D-2

Thanks, I'll wait. I at one time could post pictures but I've done something to the computer, and it won't let me. I'll get one of the
grand kids to fix it someday...d2

D-2, It sounds like it could be a Gibbs live Muskrat net trap. If it is, it would be marked on the pan. If you could send the photos to me, I can post them for you.

Thats the very one I have, thanks a jillion. It's hanging down at the shop and tomorrow sometime I will lightly clean the pan to see if I can
read anything on it. Are they worth much, I haven't got a clue on traps like these? Once again, thanks...D-2

There are a couple of variations, one lifts the muskrat out of the water when tripped. The others don't. Animal Trap Company of America bought out Gibbs in 1936, the traps that ATC made are not marked. Condition is always important to value. I have seen these sell for $800 to $1,200.
